Instant pot French Onion Soup recipe. Derived from many visits to our favorite fancy restaurants all around Las Vegas and perfected in the Instant pot!
For a complex flavor it is inexpensive, has relatively few ingredients and is easy to create.

Preparation1. Saute butter and sliced onions in instant pot for 3 minutes.
2. Stir in brown sugar to "carmelize" onions. Saute for another 3 minutes.
3. Stir in broth, riesling, thyme, bay leaves and minced garlic. Bring to Boil.
4. Set instant pot to "soup" function for 10 minutes.
5. Quick release instant pot after 10 minute cook.
6. Scoop soup into 8 oven safe crocks.
7. Top each soup, in order: 5-6 Croutons, 1 Slice Swiss Cheese, 1 Slice Provalone Cheese, Sprinkle with Paprika
8. Broil for 3-5 minutes until cheese is brown
